Cyber Security
Cyber security basics every business should review
You don’t need enterprise complexity to raise your security posture. Start with identity, backups, patching, and monitoring that actually get maintained.

Protect identities first
Compromised accounts are a common path into business systems. Multi-factor authentication, strong access policies, separate administrator accounts, and prompt removal of former users reduce this risk significantly.
Keep devices and applications current
Unsupported software and delayed patches leave known weaknesses available to attackers. Maintain an asset register, apply updates consistently, and use endpoint protection that is actively monitored.
Prepare for recovery
Backups should be automated, protected from normal user accounts, and tested through real recovery exercises. A backup that has never been restored is not yet a dependable recovery plan.
Make security an operating discipline
Someone must be accountable for alerts, access reviews, vendor risk, staff awareness, and incident response. Document who makes decisions and how the business will communicate if an incident occurs.
Strong foundations do not remove every risk, but they make attacks harder, improve detection, and help the business recover with less disruption.
